You are big on red ball handles! :-)
As you know, I just acquired one of the same model. I have a question. Once you had everything broken free and cleaned up and lubricated, how hard is it to change steps with those vee belts? The main drive double vee belt has the big handle to loosen the tension but the feed just has the one handle to take it loose and then you have to muscle the lower cone pulley up to loosen the belt enough to change feeds.
cretedog, you really should go post pictures of your machine on vintagemachinery.org - they have one or two 22s but OMG yours is so much cleaner and mintier. And you can really see what's going on!
Now a painting question. Having painted the vee belt sheaves black, didn't the paint rapidly rub off of the insides of the cone pulley grooves once you started using it?
That is like cheating having your own large paint booth! I guess that's what it takes to get a museum-quality paint job like yours.
