I have an old punch and shear I picked up made in Hespeler Ontario by AB Jardine and co. and it has a broken piece. I was just wondering if anyone on here thinks it is worth while fixing or just scrap it ? I have never used one but it is well made but well worn on the cam . It is tight everywhere else and holes at first glance seem round still.

It would be helpful to see a propery-lit picture of it all-together.
But it looks worth fixing to me. Looks like one ear broke a long ime ago, then it limped long on one until that one broke, too. That might indicate that only a severe overload could break it...or not. Might consider making a steel replacement for the broken Cast iron part.

It's a little hard to get a sense of the size of the piece involved, but IF (and that's a big if) you can mount it in a mill using the existing holes to align it, you may be able to mill out the pieces indicated in yellow and replace them with steel of the appropriate size. It would be a bit of work, but I think it could be done.
