It has been a while since I posted. I have thrived at our aerospace shop in Savannah as the lead programmer. We are doing well despite covid. Anyway, we are thinking about replacing some large profilers and are looking at the Starrag Ecospeed and a Modig Rigid mill. The machines would cut aero-structure parts mostly 7075 al. For this machine our parts size from 2'x3' to 4'x20. We have 3 SNK horizontal profilers but they are showing there age. Also there tool changers such and with a 50 taper the tools stick often. We are speaking to starrag and modig and they both say there machine is the best.
I really like head of the Ecospeed and it is horizontal. The Modig is really impressive too. Any one out there have any experience with these mills?
If you have never see the Ecospeed head check this out.
