Any thoughts on "digital transactions only" in the years ahead?

I also remember back in the day, one division of GM (Delco?) grouping together to go to court as their pensions had been halved?
Not sure if it got there or any outcome though.

Probably Delphi--salary personnel. The UAW hourly retained their pension/benefits. The salary workforce did not.

Plenty of GM haters on both sides of the fence but given the change one would think more hatred among the left and union and more okay from the right or business side.

I grew up in a Ford family. My dad was an engine designer for them. Nothing but Fords for cars.

When I started to buy my cars for myself, I bought G.M. Mostly Chevys.

Then started dabbling in the stock market, and bought G.M. around 1995.

Guess what happened to THAT money.

Now, proud owner of a real car, from a company that NEVER took any of my tax money....BMW.

And if any of you Chevy guys out there want to compare fit and finish.......well you get the idea.

I was a Chevy guy in my illegal street racing youth, and generally wanting to get from point A to B as quick as possible. The interchangeability of parts could not be beat. As much as I hate to say it the Fords of the day had way understated horsepower.

It helped fund the likes of Big B's pension.

GM has been going downhill for very many years.....this is easily traced by the sales of the big profit divisions such as the Cleveland Division, the trucks (not toys )to Volvo,Detroit Diesel to MB,and more recently sale of the Electromotive Division to Berkshire Hathaway. This left them with the cars and highly paid, highly unionised workforces .

All something that is likely similar to your Aussie heritage what with getting a start as a penile colony. Heck your Parliament just last year was raping staff so 'Orange Man's' mean tweets are not even close.

"penile colony" ???????

ROFLMAO.

An education is a wonderful thing. Pity you never got one.

As for Trump, he managed to take the 'worst President ever' title off of GWB so one can't say he achieved nothing during his term.

I don't actually give him much thought except when I see the poor losers still living in denial that he lost the election. Then in typical Trump fashion, tried to lie & cheat his way out of that.

And people like you admire him & defend him. Guess you've the same level of morality - someone who'd think nothing wrong with fucking a soft porn star while your wife was pregnant with your child.

Do you ever look in a mirror and wonder how you sank so low?

Can you ever stop lying? I have said I can't stand Trump 100's of times. Donald Trump did not write the Republican platform. I am wasting time? You just can't think outside your own very small world when it comes to machining. I find that baffling as we have something called the internet now that should have got you out of your UAW shell.I am sitting in at office desk pulling the occasional wrap around chips off some replica stock screws for vintage rifles I am making. The machine is grossing $91.24 an hour, you knock off set-up time and expenses that pulls it down to $80.

A bar lasts 4 hrs 22 minutes. When the bar ends it is time to spend 5 minutes to change the front turn insert and load a new bar, then it runs another 4 hrs and 22 minutes without being touched. When I load the next bar I will be off to run a couple hours of errands, all while the machine makes money.

"Running errands" LOL. Hun, I need to run some errands. (sneaks off to kick some ass on PM).

In case you haven't noticed, trump hasn't exactly gone away and it appears to me that he's in complete control of the republicon party just like he has been for about 6 year. You hate trump but love everything about him. Got it.

"these trump people"...."these GM people". Could they be the same?

For sure some of them are the same. Some of my former coworkers are full on trumpers. They collect their pension that the UAW negotiated for them but worship at the alter of trump.

You take ten thousand people and you will find every personality trait and every habit good and bad in some of them. People are people.

I saw an article where a group that went unpaid banded together and filed a lawsuit in 2012, if I can dig it up again I will post a link, I saw it yesterday.

Probably the salaried workers. They really got hosed. If they had a contract like the hourly people had they would have been OK but they saved a lot of money on union dues over the years so I guess it's kind of a tradeoff but some of them are very bitter about it. They lost all pension and medical benefits. I don't blame them for being pissed but don't be pissed at me, be pissed at GM.

This may shock you but when you say GM you are talking about many different businesses that just happen to share the same name but little else. GM USA can go bankrupt and the GM businesses that were built with money from GM USA are all good. It's a lot of accounting games.

Youtopia, good one, isn't that the truth. He can't seem to think outside his own world, which working as a UAW was a very sheltered one. Claiming to be a 30 year UAW worker is one of his few stories I actually believe.

And I obviously occupy a lot of the limited real estate in your mind. It's kind of flattering and kind of creepy at the same time. Maybe some day you'll end up in a book. You are kind of special.

Dear, tell me the answer to one question.
I remember how a few years ago Amazon wanted to open (or rather, wanted to open - and opened) several stores without cashiers, paying exclusively by card.
Some part of the public was outraged that poor people who do not have a bank card could not buy there, and it seemed that the authorities of several states wanted to somehow regulate this issue. Does anyone know how this story ends?
