Electromagnetic brake on an Italian built lathe.

Stamped logo reads: OCMEAS. r,r, MILANO

Haven't been able to find a company or a match from other companies.

Wonder if a good electric shop can rewind the coil.

Lathe is a "Lansing G40". Imported by S&S in New York. Gornati has some parts and manuals. I think they may have built some of the Lansings. Gornati has a brake assembly for 1900 U.S. dollars.

Found a very similar brake(dimensions within 2mm of mine) at MWM in Milano. Not sure if part is available anywhere other than MWM, or price they want.

FWIW, the MWM model number is EBLF 140, Code: 05.07.140.01.

Try googling for Coremo Ocmea - we use their (pneumatic) brake calipers on the machines we design & build.
The brake discs we just make out of mild steel.

I did find Coremo Ocmea. None of their stuff came close dimensionally.

Also found a link to US branch of MWM. Will call tomorrow for pricing/availability.

If it's the coil that burnt up any good motor shop should be able to help you. I had a brake coil rewound a number of years ago and it was very reasonable.
