Anyone try the endmills HAAS is selling?

I am specifically interested in the 3 flute endmills. They have two models HSAM1 from Israel and HSAM2 from South Korea.

The South Korean version comes only in corner radius versions, but seems likely to be YG1. I am wondering if they are the same as the YG1 Alu Power HPC? They should be a very good deal if they are at $29 for 1/2" vs $48 for a YG1 branded one.

The Israel sourced sharp corner ones are just $24.

Anyone try these yet and can confirm what they are and how they perform?

HSAM1 Israel:
HSAM1, 1/2" O Carbide End Mill, 1/2" Shank x 1" LOC, Square Profile, 3 Flute, Uncoated

HSAM2 South Korea:
HSAM2, 1/2" O Carbide End Mill, 1/2" Shank x 1-1/4" LOC, 0.015" Radius, 3 Flute, Uncoated

YG1 for comparison:
1/2" 3FL with .010"Radius, 1.25"LOC, Bright Finish Carbide End Mill 37deg ALU-POWER HPC 3"OAL, 1/2"Shank

Around Christmas I bought this cobalt split point drill index set which appear to be YG1 Gold P drills for $218 on sale.
111-Piece, HSSCO8 Jobber Drill Bundle (Fractional, Letter, Number)

Edit: got the link for the South Korea endmill wrong

I doubt they are the same exact endmill. I would buy one and see how it cuts. The haas has a 38 deg helix and YG has a 37, but they may or may not vary the helix. If it is a variable flute and helix for $29 that would be a good deal...

I'll buy some. I am still getting my mill up and running, so I won't have any immediate results.

I got the link to the South Korean mill wrong. That one is 37 degree like the Alu power HPC.

Who might be the OEM for the Israel version?

I try to buy Garr end mills as much as I can because they are very good, price is right and they're Made in the USA (Michigan).

I've been buying the 5 fluters for stainless. They kick ass for the money.

Smokin deal on those drills!

Programmed via Mazatrol

Yeah, that set isn't a bad deal as is, but 30% off made it really good. They seem to have random deals or coupon codes.

The whole setup is a little thrown together. If the South Korean mills turn out to be really good, it is weird they are only available in corner radius versions. If you want a sharp one, it is something else.

We are using the 3 flute and 5 flutes extensively. I've ordered a few hundred from them over the past 6 months. They run as well as the Helical and Imco we were previously using, but cost less than half.

YG-1 appears to sell their tools "unbranded" (or someone else is selling stuff from the same production line?)

Europa Tools sells the alupower, HPC and V7 end mills under their own brand. I think I've seen others

I'm kind of curious what the relationship is.. if they are seconds then the quality is good. I rang the company up and they just said something like "... Yeah might be from the same factory..."

So if it looks and smells like a YG-1, then it quite possibly is...

It's actually even more likely that they don't make a damn thing. This part "we have manufacturing partners" screams "we just buy our stuff from the people who actually make it".

Which is okay and fine and there's definitely a place in the world for distributors who buy quantities then retail it but i hate having to look down and down and down to find the truth.
