Autodesk Fusion 360 vs Inventor and maybe Siemens NX

I'd be a little nervous about switching to Russian software these days, but that's just me.
Ah, I didn't know it was Russian based. Be interesting to see what kind of data is being sent. If they get back I'll set it up on an isolated build look what is being sent with Wireshark/NetworkMonitor.

Interesting. Been contemplating the idea to move to NX from SolidWorks. Never even heard of T-Flex but submitted for a trial. You messed with the CAM side of things at all?
I trialed the CAM briefly. It's functional, but I found it tedious and lacking some features common in other CAM packages. The simulator is basic and has issues with simulating dense toolpaths (many small steps, like in 3D contouring). It is also poorly suited for complex 3D contouring for other reasons as well. For 2.5D parts or 3+1 or 3+2 indexed parts, it could be fine. It's also quite inexpensive for a CAM package, so if that's all you need it might be worth a look. When I bought my CAD seat some years back the CAM modules were $2500 for all of them, which includes 5 axis. I don't have a 5 axis machine, so I have no idea how well it works, but to have it at all at that price point is notable.

That said, I'm not sure if its even possible to do business with them at this point, as they are Russian. I'm waiting until their next major CAD release to see if I can get back on maintenance. If you talk to them, I'd be curious to know how it works out.
