When you add chemicals to water, you raise the boiling point.

The salt has to be added periodically and the thermometer is not going to be found in the cooking section at the stores..

I have zero experience w/BO. I do cerakote and like others wonder if the problem is in the prep, it usually is. For cerakote we degrease by soaking in acetone then bake the parts to gas off anything imbedded and repeat until clean.
