If you really want it gone ASAP, AND to save it from scrapyard you need to adjust the price to something like double the scrap value.
This will discourage scrappers from bugging you and someone serious about it should get a price drop for showing up to get it.
Otherwise you are loading it up and wasting time taking it to the scrap yard where you will be lucky to get enough money to pay your fuel and buy some lunch on the way home. If you can wait for the right buyer then your $800 price might be OK, but I would think you will be waiting for a while.
Now you did not say what else comes with it, with the right pile of other stuff your price might be OK but then again you did not mention any "extras".

I'm definitely open to all offers. I set the price at 800 after speaking with a vintage machine restorer. He said $1600 completely cleaned and painted but $800 as is. $800 or best offer takes it

I'm going to have to agree with others that your asking price might not move that thing out very fast. I paid less than a third as much for a very similar machine and I've seen quite a few go for less.

It sound like you should offer it to him for $400 and see what he says. It should be easy for him do double or with a little work quadruple his money. If he says no then you know the price is way to high.
