I am new to the field of abrasive water jet machining (drilling) and trying to understand the programming of the water jet machine and the grit dosing system. when I set the flow rate (grams/min) in the machine software and then measure the actual flow rate i found that it is much less than the stated value in the software (for example, in the software I request 100 grams/min and I get 30 grams/min in reality), it seems this has something to do with the dosing system which is controlled by the voltage.
Could someone pelase help me understand how this works. Attached below is an image of the software setup where we can control the flow rate in the dosing system.
The formula shown in the image in the bottom right end clearly explains how it works but when I enter the numbers the actual flow rate is not the same. what could be the issue? any help would be appreciated. The dosing system is Allfi.
