Anyone have any Cincinnati Hypro planer serial number data? This machine is coming up on auction near me & id like to see if i can find weight & year data. Its a 12 x 3 x 3 with good working WRd Leonard drive
Yes, it’s a well loved machine going off the photos. The last planer I installed was a 1955 machine that was a bit bigger than that one with a “ Futurmill “ milling head on one planing head, a second planing head on the cross rail, two side boxes, one on each upright, various grinding heads that could be fitted onto the planing heads. Flood coolant to the heads, DRO on three axis etc. etc. It weighed about 80 tons all up ( 160,000 lbs ).Tyrone, you are exactly right about building around it. This machine is coming up on auction and i have been interested. It is a beautiful machine with some expected wear and im guessing very early 1940's. After looking it over yesterday, I just cannot justify the space requirements. The bed is 29' long and the Motor Generator set & cabinets take up a lot of space. Unfortunitely, it'll likely end up going for less than scrap price mostly due to the efforts required to move it.
Try again. hopefully, it works nowPhoto album link doesn’t work for me.
Thank You. I didnt want to take the time to call. Did they have a build card on hand?According to Gidding & Lewis records No. 6263 is c1942.
