Hi, all. I just won an auction for one of these machines and have some questions.
Can anyone verify the weight I found of 3700 lbs?
Are parts available?
If so what suppliers?
The Y axis is taken apart in the pictures and I am not sure what I might to repair.
Any common issues or upgrades?

It has the bigger 30 ? taper spindle with drive lugs.

Any help or advice is appreciated!

It looks like Kondia may no longer be in business but Timesavers (the belt sanding company) bought all machining related assets from the 600 Group so they may have some parts for Kondia.

Well I picked up the mill and I’m heading back.
There is some surface rust, what is the best way to clean it off?
The Y axis is damaged somehow.
The rod spins in the nut ball screw

Hi, no it is not. It is a standard mill with some dro parts still attached.
I hadn’t looked close enough.
I will tear into it tomorrow and figure out what is broken and all the missing pieces.
I need some 30 taper tooling also.

Well the mill seems to be in better condition that I thought. Hour meter shows 1445.
It must have been damaged on the Y axis hand wheel and associated parts it’s all missing but the ways are nice and clean underneath and the acme nut and screw seem fine.
Mine has the power feed and the manual doesn’t show the correct parts.

Do you have a hollow spindle with a drawbar? If so, and you are starting out, you can pick whichever 30 taper tooling you want and adjust the drawbar length to fit.

BTW, you did confirm it was 30 taper? Mine is 40 taper.

Also: BT30 will have a metric thread, NT/NMTB/CAT will have imperial thread.

It is a 30 taper.
I ordered 2 BT30 er32 tool holders and they fit nicely except the draw bar is incorrect but not a problem because it’s junk anyway. So now I need an M12x1.75 drawbar.
