Having some troubles with a 2016 haas VF2 with wips

I moved the tool probe body to a new location in the table and went though the entire tool probe set up for the tool and spindle probe.

After full calibration I went to verify the set up.

X/y is fine when using the spindle probe

And the tool touched measures spot on tj my gage tool.

BUT the spindle probe when setting Z will set Z0 to where the spindle nose is touching where the stylus touched the pat. Obviously this will not work. Any idea what’s wrong.

The distance when touching Z is always the exact leingth of the spindle probe off the top of the part like it is compensating the whole thing down

This is a problem because both our mills our down waiting on tech support to call (the brother probe is not running probe functions properly either) but the hass is likely the most expedient fix.

Have confirmed the tool probe is measuring the correct leingth of tools.
Have calibrated the spondle probe in the +
And see the tool probe using a + number

Have confirmed the tool probe is measuring the correct length of tools.

What is the length of spindle probe (you did not mentioned its tool number) in tool offset register ? Is the wear register zeroed ?

The spindle probe is 5.4 something inches long. The length is registered in the offset page, wear is 0 I am using T25

We have the same issue on our new machine. The Renishaw setup guy said he's never seen it before and ended up having to "fool" the machine into thinking that the probe is giving us a different reading until he can figure it out. The probe is off by about .09" in Z.
So we're fine for now,but if we have to change the stylus or recalibrate for any reason we're hosed.
