Cylindrical surface? If the machine has cylindrical interpolation then yes.
Scaling is also possible if the control option is spec’d. Place I retired from had several work centers where serial engraving was needed. All were equipped with macro B and scaling. The characters were programmed at 1” height and scaling was one of the arguments passed in the macro call to set the character size.
