Colchester master taper turning attachment

Hi all

Looking for someone who has specific experience with Colchester master 2500 or student 1800 taper turning attachments.

Does anyone know 100% if the cross slide screw is different on lathes that have a taper turning attachment? IE does the screw need to be longer for the thrust bearing to be mounted on the attachment?

From the little bit if reading I've done it sounds like they all have a spline drive between the handle and the screw which allows it to telescope without needing to be disengaged

Yes ,the screw definitely has two angular contacts mounted on an extension of the screw on the far side...cant recall what the detail of the handwheel end is.
