Confounding behavior when homing Daewoo Lynx Lathe

I have a new to me 1998 Daewoo Lynx 200B Lathe with a Fanuc 21-t control.

My issues are when I try to reference (home) the machine. The z axis works fine. If I am near the chuck, it rapids away until its about 3" from its home and creeps until it hits its reference (home) position then stops and the little green led lights up.

The X axis rapids upwards until its hits its soft limit. No reference limit, no green light. I have tried to change all of the parameters associated with this action. But I have had zero luck in adjusting the "home" location.

Below is a list of the parameters I have been adjusting. - I will put a P next to the parameter number otherwise its sort of confusing.

Reference Point #1 P1240 x axis 250825 - went up down and nothing changes
z axis 419100
Reference Point P1250 x axis 250825 - went up down and nothing changes
z axis 419100
Reference Point (inch) P1251 x axis 98750 - went up down and nothing changes
z axis 165000
Limit + P1320 x axis 279400 - adjusted to 170000 because it was way beyond the hard limit switch for some reason.
z axis 435340
Limit - P1321 x axis - 40640 - adjusted to -110000 again because it was way off its mark
z axis 104140

I have also tried moving the machine to where "home" should be on the x axis and toggling the 1215 Parameter APZ to 1. then power off then on. Plus many other combinations of messing with that bit but to no avail.

I also reset the soft limits by powering down and holding CAN and P while powering up but again to no avail.

Is there something in the gridshift I should be messing with?

Thanks

As far as I can see there are no switches being touched at all. - like when the z axis hits its reference, its nearly half an inch away from its dog

EDIT

So this is extremely weird but it seems to me like the overtravel limit switch is missing a spacer or something. The hard limit switch doesn't even interact with either of the 2 end dogs. the middle one which I believe to be the decel dog doesn't interact with a dog at all. - if the switch was moved over 3/8" of an inch or so, everything would be in line.... wtf

So I took the switch off of the mount, used a half inch spacer to move it into the lanes where it should be and voila, the machine homes.

Why could the machine have been configured this way? its so confusing.

Now if only I could figure out why the spindle wont run.

Sounds like the switches may have shifted in transit when being shipped to you.
Spindle - is the chuck in a clamped condition? It needs to be.
Then go to MDI and type "G97 S250 M03;" - input - cycle start.

Yea theres no way these shifted in transit, its bolted directly to the casting. Its been run like this for some time, all I can think is that they were running the machine without homing the x axis?

Got the spindle running thanks!!
