We are considerting our first CNC Vertical Mill. Mazak or HAAS. How reliable is the Mazak? Does your Mazak need service often and is it costly? How long do you typically have to wait for service?
Any other comments welcomed.
Cheers,
Nick

all depends, how close is a local rep/service?
my local rep here sucks for mazak., the interface is different if you aren't used to it.
haas is ok, but has a good interface setup
all depends if the person running it has any experience with CNC, if they do the mazak will be fine, if not its a steep learning curve.

MAZAK is a funny company. Check atm for how many states in USA they are currently looking for field service representative, that will give u the overall picture

Mechanically a Mazak is a different class of machine to any Hass. I have one Integrex 23 years old, still holds tenths, the new controls are outstanding. You will never look back. Tech, applications and service are same day/next day here in the northeast. There are morons and miserable people in every organization - when I find one, I'll avoid them like the plague.
