Proving out a new program last evening. All OK main spindle buy after the bar pull with sub, the cutoff holder looked very close to the spinning sub jaws. Feed hold with Flashlight and looked to be just enough room to complete the cutoff Not! But the "crash" was a very slight rub, very quiet too. It went into overload before I could hit feed hold, and my finger was on the button! Very slight rub mark on the jaws, tiny burr on one of them.
I am guessing the control may know the amount of power required for the cutoff tool and shut it down. For sure there are many operations that require more current draw than a cutoff in acetal rod.
