I manage a captive shop for a large manufacturing company. We have D365 for our ERP companywide (orders, procurement, contracts, buyers, planning, etc.). I have a few shadow systems in excel and MS project that I keep tabs on for the shop. Does anyone have suggestions to a unified platform that would communicate with D365?

It does depend a bit on how accessible the database structure is on D365 and how it can be expanded to what you need, which I'm not aware of (I assume you want to integrate and/or export data?). Could be that, currently, you're just getting paperwork or just limited info via PC? I can say this, which is not directly answering your question, but see if you can functionally integrate what you're doing on Excel & MS Project into it. I'm just guessing that there might be apps that can be used on a tablet (ideally by operators) that could make it much easier, efficient & accurate. Hopefully they tell you what/when/how to make and you just naturally receive and return data (got it done, running behind, need some OT, etc. that is all based off reality like labor & machine usage/advailability).

The worst part is that it may require some customization which most ERP'ers can do but it may not be cheap (but hopefully justifiable!).

Good luck, I can try to answer more specifically if you write more details.
