Deckel FP-1 Handle

My FP-1 is just too old and crusty to warrant buying something from Singer. When I was at the local auto wreckers I saw this ratchet car jack handle. I plug welded a 1/2" drive socket into the existing hole. Works great. It ratchets in one direction only, but that has not been a concern so far. Don't remember what vehicle it came from, maybe a full-size Chevy or Ford pick-up.
