Deckel fp4m feed gearbox problems

Hello this is my first post on here, I’ve recently acquired an fp4m sold as seen?, my problem is the electromagnetic clutch which has had its day and was wondering if someone can point me in the direction of a replacement which won’t cost me as much as I paid for the machine.

Not familiar with that machine, but io will say that an electromagnetic clutch will in most likelihood not be made by Deckel, but supplied by a second party maker.
Get it out and examine it , Likely you can fond a replacement form the original maker or NOS from sources like e-bay
Failing that i would try Singer or FPS.

Are you sure it is the clutch Not a greasy loose belt

Hi,got the part off it's been cooked,the 2 wires were bare where they enter the winding, scoured ebay no luck have seen one sold by singer at over 1K looks like it's the fps option at a lot less than singer.I have taken the unit to an electrical rewind specialist who are trying to source one from Ortinghaus hopefully will get an answer next week. Was hoping for some positive response from this forum mine cannot be the only fp4 with a knackered clutch. Many thanks for the reply Henry

You could try Keith Price down here if it can't be rewound for some reason. I wouldn't expect him to be cheap(er) though!
