I don't have a Deckel, but my Emco Super 11 is also supposed to be RAL 6011. Rustoleum Satin Leafy Green has been a good match for quickly repainting a few components. It is actually very good, once you get a little oil or grease on it. Matching 40 year old paint perfectly is sort of futile.

These guys will sell RAL matched paint, spray cans, and powder coat: https://www.lvppaints.com

I've purchased RAL6011 from 3 online sources. None match the Deckel or each other. I then took a piece of shetmetal to my local ACE hdw to get a quart match mixed. It doesn't look right either. The woman at the paint counter said it was because the pebbly finish of the sample allowed light into the sensor.

Nobody has a perfect sense of color...Its all subjective.
You can exactly match a tone or musical note, not so with color.....Anyone who says different is just plain mistaken..
If it looks close to you , then that's the best you can do..
All this stuff is made using specific amounts of base colors...which are not perfect to begin. Then there is the age of the original finish..
If you want an exact match to Deckel color, Gotta go back 30 years and get the paint from the original supplier, otherwise its "close" is what you should expect.
Cheers Ross

I did the same and got a really good match. The ACE hardware store I bought the paint at was new at the time and their computer match setup worked quite well.

But the paint is not up to the job. i.e. after a few years it yellowed. I am thinking of using something better. Ross recommended POLANE. Maybe Sherwin Williams can color match Polane. However, I would have to go to a San Jose or bay area store; the local Sherwin Williams does not carry industrial paints. Polane is available in lots of colors in spray cans, but probably not Reseda Green.

There is a Sherwin Williams automotive paint store in Oakland if you want to use their singlestage urethane. The old Dimension urethane was wonderful- similar to Centari Acrylic Enamel, but its no longer VOC compliant in the Bay area.
You are in Salinas- and I know for sure there are several automotive paint sources in Watsonville, as a few friends drive down there to get non-VOC compliant acrylic enamel. Forget Polane because of the inherent nasty solvents and PPE required- use acrylic enamel or single stage urethane- it holds up wonderfully on machine tools.

Learn me what RAL means please and thanks!
In this context, "RAL" is a set of color codes, used primarily in Europe. It defines about 30 or 40 specific colors, so it's not like going to the big box store and seeing a thousand pastel shades on the sample rack.

RAL is actually short for Reichs-Ausschuss fur Lieferbedingungen und Gutesicherung, which is an old German outfit that does industry standardizations.

I settled on a Kelly Moore two part epoxy enamel that the local KM carried and could color match. The match looks pretty good for color, and the texture is a good match to the OEM paint. It will be a while until I can paint the toolmakers table I just bought from Ross. I will be traveling for the next few weeks, but when I return that will be my next project.

Have you ever tried hardener in the enamel? I used Van Sickle tractor paint hardener in Ace alykd enamel. I'm told any enamel hardner works in any alkyd enamel, that's the brand my store had. Makes the paint dry real fast and real glossy and real hard. It's not as chip resistant as something like Polane but it seems real resistant to coolants and normal abrasion, I haven't noticed any yellowing. I painted a turning center and 2 gear shapers with it, it's standing up to the chlorinated cutting oils,
And cheap... :)

The paint I got from Ace resisted coolant and oil fine, but it yellowed. Initially it was a great color match, you couldn't tell where the old and new overlapped without a close inspection, but now its pretty obvious.

Deckel used RAL 6011 Reseda Green, as others have noted. I highly recommend Sherwin Williams Polane. They will mix a custom color and the paint is quite affordable, all things considered. I've never found anything nearly as good. Just find a SW Industrial service center location near you (the retail stores won't have any idea what you're talking about...Polane what?), contact them and then send them a sample part. They can expertly match color and desired gloss level.
