Delta and Hamilton Sensitive drill press belts

Hi everyone,

I have recently acquired three sensitive drill presses that I'm restoring to use in my shop. So far it's all going well. The biggest hang up is getting new belts for the machines. They're Panther #400 seamless belts. I found a company that can supply them but I don't need 5 belts for each machine. I'm seeing if there's any interest on here for them. Message me if you're interested in buying or going in on them with me. Price is around $25 or so plus shipping.

Here are the sizes I'll be getting:

Delta 14" sensitive Drill press: 9/16" wide x 39.5" long
Hamilton Varimatic: 5/8" wide x 35" long
Hamilton Maximus: 5/8" wide x 34.5" long

I have not ordered the belts yet. Their minimum is 5 of each size and I only want 2 so I can have a spare.

Thanks!!!

I bought a single belt for my Hamilton from McMaster-Carr. I think it is a Habasit belt and has a joint. I have had it for years with no issues.

I had a local power transmission shop make a Habasit belt for my Hardinge flat belt BB59 lathe headstock about 40 years ago and it is still doing the job. The maker has to slit the stock to width, skive the ends and join with some kind of special cement. The joint is not mechanically objectionable. I think there is a German Leder brand belt that is similar.

The belt for my flat belt high speed hammer drilling machine is a leather belt from a thrift shop that I cut and sewed with braided fly reel backing. Still going strong 15 or so years later
