Hi, I am looking for an extra stop rod nut for my Delta 17-600, serial number 1505836. Near as I can tell it has a 5/8-11 ACME thread. It has the micro nut arrangement and all I have is the nut with the numbers on the OD. Would anyone have an extra nut with this thread?

As I count the threads it appears to be 11 threads per inch. I counted the number of turns of the micro-nut and it was 11. But 1/11 is .0909, not .100 as the micro-nut is marked. So I am a bit confused about the number of threads per inch. A standard ACME is 10 threads per inch. But I know one can cut any thread form in any pitch if one wants to. That is why I am looking for original parts.

People often count one too many threads when holding them up to a ruler. There’s a bit of a knack to it.

On v-threads it’s usually described as counting crest to crest. For acme threads I’d use one of the corners. If it’s ten tpi then the one inch mark should just touch the same corner on the eleventh thread, thus putting ten complete threads inside the one inch space. The eleventh corner doesn’t count because the thread it represents is beyond the inch we’re counting.
