Die Head Suggestion for 5/8-11 Bolt Thread on Lathe (Production)

I have a production job doing 5/8-11 thread on some bolts. The 10F Landis Die Head I bought years ago is apparently so outdated that I can't get the correct holders or chasers for it, so I am back to the drawing board.

Suggestions on heads/chasers readily available to purchase to get the job done?

Edited to add: Thoughts on Geometric vs Tangential? We'll be doing about 250 bolts every couple months.

Where did you inquire about Landis parts ?

Die Head

I checked with Small Tools, Newton Tools, Landis, ERT and searched all over Ebay. The only one that could even get the chasers and holders I need for the Landis Die Head I have gave me a $5000 quote.

Don't all the 10 series heads use the same holders and chasers?

Depending on the actual quantity and length of the bolts, this sounds like a job for a bolt & pipe threader. Just a thought.

Detroitautomatic. Is where I just got my inserts today, they also have heads. ( Got a great deal on a spare Geo' auto tap from them)

I just checked my stock on inserts, sorry no luck there, but if somebody wants some new Landis "1-1/4 head" blanks and inserts I have no use for them, 9 sets, make an offer.

No answer, but "long, long ago" friends and even one sister worked at Landis so i got curious to see what they do these days.

Looks like they now own Geometric, and Fette, as well.

OTOH, lots of clones of those.
Not sure about the older Landis heads.

I would think about sending them out for thread rolling.

I have used Rolled Threads Unlimited in New Berlin. Others here have used them also and been happy. One said of RTU "their prices are so low it will make you cry".

I'm using a Geometric 3/4 DS with 5/8-11 chasers threading about 1.300 long.
For me its the cats meow, has the auto-release.

I found a couple 1" DS heads on Ebay along with ONE set of the 5/8-11 Chasers I need. Anyone care to look at these and let me know which they'd suggest? I read in the forums that once we get over 1" the D and DS chasers aren't interchangable. I did find a 1 1/4 DS Head that I would prefer on Ebay, but no luck with chasers for that size in 5/8-11.

These chasers have more hook ground on the lead to prevent tearing of the thread. See pictures. They have not been used since they were reground. WE HAVE OTHER SIZES AVAILABLE.

I was only leaning towards the 1" because the only chasers on Ebay in 5/8-11 I could find were for a 1" head. I'm willing to do any size as long as its a DS/DSA self-opening and I can get a set of chasers in 5/8-11 for it in a reasonable amount of time from Quality Chasers or somewhere. I haven't used them before so I'm not sure of the time frame they take or their pricing. I have an email into them inquiring.
