Dropsa Air/Oil Lubricator Resets on Mill Spindle or Air Compressor Startup

Lubricator control consistently resets when mill spindle starts (about 2000 rpm and above) and/or each time the air compressor kicks on. Has anyone had this problem? Unit (120V) is wired to the mill's transformer in the cabinet.

Thanks,

Bill

No. Mill is on phase converter. Compressor is single phase. I contacted the manufacturer. They said it is broken. Replacement is $4000.00.

Curious if this is something that just started happening or if this is a new-ish install? Have you made sure that the two single phase lines of your supply are feeding the control transformer, and not the manufactured 3 phase line?

Is the RPC of sufficient capacity for the CNC, and are the supply lines to the compressor equally adequate? Wondering if on startup of the spindle or compressor, you're getting enough of an excess voltage drop so that the lube unit thinks it was just shut off and turned back on again. Sounds crazy... but you never know.

It is a new-ish install (June 2022). The supply phases are connected correctly.

Actually, last evening it starting working correctly. Today, it is stuck in a loop and never goes on standby. Tried resets and cycling the power.

It seems to be in need of repair/replacement. They don't make this model anymore. I would have to get the latest model. I don't have the $4000 to spend currently. Radwell can replace or repair but they have a bad reputation on this site.

Not sure where else to look. None on ebay of this model.

If you'd dare turn to another brand, there are some Taco lube units on ebay for very reasonable cost. My late 90's Mori Seiki has a Taco M7 which is also discontinued. I believe the new version is M9 . If you're able to compare specs and control input wiring it could be a way to go.

I am looking at other brands. I don't care as long as it works. It's 120V and I believe the control checks for air pressure and the state of the alarm contacts.

Is the Taco unit air/oil mist?

Looks like I can replace the controller with a few timers and relays. All of the rest of the components work. The pump and solenoid are 120V also.

Installed an $100 timer relay to keep things running. May add fault checking logic later. Just have to visually check for proper operation at startup.
