A bushing like that might take 10 minutes... Would take longer wasting time trying to find one to order, speaking for myself.
Hey Brother don't you have to setup and then clean your lathe after? That's 10min even if you do a crap job.
I place orders every day sometimes more and I can buy a bushing faster than I can wash my hands..
Thx for your help.

Sure thing. And no, there's generally not a lot of setup there and maybe a handful of chips generated for something like that.

I think it was Grazzely Co where we could buy wheel blotters, but I don't see that name anymore, I'm not even sure if that is the right name.
Its likely Norton or other wheel companies may sell them. At the big shop we would ask the vendor and get a shoot load of them for free.

Well brother for me it would be.
1) Indicate the bushing or stock in the four jaw.
2) Pick a guided reamer and bore the ID.
3) Touch off on the OD that sticking out beyond the jaws while still keeping it in the four jaw.
4) Turn the OD and part off my bushing.
5 )Clean up the lathe and cutters.

35 minutes minimum and thats becuase COIVD ran off all the Elf's or I could spend $7.00 for a bushing that meets the spec. 🤔

Hmm. Might need to work on your efficiency a little there.

OT, Op 1) Indicate the bushing or stock in the four jaw.
A good way to make a bushing is to hold the part in whatever, and run the face, Id, and od in one chucking .. then part it off.. everything then is dead-true that way..
Likely the $6 bushing would be money well spent.

I agree Buck
I sometimes I will indicate my stock to minimize material removal or to use an existing surface like the OD.
A good way to improve efficiency is to blow off the machine onto the floor and clean the wall and floor at the end of the day when all the jobs are done.
