I did make a little head way in under standing where the tools are referencing to. During the probe setup it had me set the z of the probe to -25.2653. -25.2653 + the 4.365 puts z equal to where it should be. So it is referencing off the negative 25.2653. So now to figure out how to set the fixture offsets with the reference tool and get it to work

So now to figure out how to set the fixture offsets with the reference tool and get it to work
If you are programming off the top of your blank, put your led setter on top of the blank, touch it with the 4.365 tool, read the z- coordinate. Subtract the setter length, and the 4.365 from the z- coordinate, and enter that in your E0x fixture offset.

This is with no tool length offset active, or with the tool length set to 0.0

How can I do it with the reference tool? Same principle? Currently I take the reference tool and lower onto a feeler gauge and when I fixture calibrate I just do z-0.003/ then hit fixture calibrate and it works great using the old method of setting tools

Still running parts so I don’t get behind. But I did come up with a temporary solution to use the probe. I can calibrate the probe with g8. Then I can set the tool length of the reference tool with g9. Write down whatever the tool length is in tool table for reference tool. Then zero out the reference tool length. Now calibrate whatever tool I’m changing with g9. It will output a positive number in tool length. I then select that tool in the tool table and type z-5.6390/ and hit enter. (5.6390 was the length set by tool probe of reference tool.) and my tool length will now be correct to use like I always do. Probably not right way but it beats the other way of calibrating.

Think I finally have figured things out. The way the dynapath is setting the reference tool is it is setting the spindle face(gauge line) at the calculated location of table probe -25.3066. So when setting the fixture offset for z if I enter z-5.6390/ then hit fixture calibrate it will set zero where the positive tool values will work. Maybe this is how it is supposed to work. Would be nice if they put that in the manual. Thanks for all the help.
