Emco vp 10 tailstock DRO

I would like to put a linear DRO on my EMCO vp10 tailstock. Looking for deals and products. Would prefer not to use 6” calipers (Beheading a micrometer seems sac religious). Also ideas for the mount on the tailstock.

I'm with you on that! I don't like the idea of cutting up even a cheapie caliper, but I found one that is already "headless". it has plastic arms, but they are a lot easier to cut, and the idea of cutting plastic is more palatable, lol!.
it's a cheapie, but it has large digits, fractional inch and metric.
