When I bought these, I was told they belonged to a German machinist, born @1890, who settled in Brooklyn NY, and worked in factories around the city. The seller got the machinist chest from the deceased 90 yr old son of this machinist. Odd that he had 3 of these...well 2-1/2 since one was cut down.
