Hi Folks,
I have a Nakamura Tome Slant 1 Turning Center with the Fanuc 10TE control. It was having intermittent spindle drive faults on startup but it finally failed. I found the drive manual online and went through the troubleshooting guide. Incoming AC voltage is good, DC voltages on the PCB all measured correctly. I determined fuse F4 was blown, its a 5A glass fuse. Frankly I have no idea what it actually does, but it blew again immediately again upon replacement.

The drive is a "Model 8" per the drive manual. part number for the complete drive is: A06B-6044-H108 and the top board is A20B-1000-069

I sourced a replacement drive with the same part #, and I am just wanting some input on installation and adjustment of the new drive. I have never swapped a drive before. I was just going to directly swap it over but I see several pots on the drive and I have no idea what other adjustments, if any, I need to make during the swap before I power up and test it.

Thanks, Teddy

There are several jumpers on the front board that need to checked and set to match the old drive before you power up. The pots will be close enough to run but if the machine has any special spindle functions they may need tweaking to optimize the function.

Figured I would update, it was fuse F4a that kept blowing, I ended up talking to Fanuc tech support and it was the MCC contactor coil that had failed. Its located beneath the main terminal block so it took awhile to get to, but I replaced the coil and we are back up and running!

That's great news. Thanks for sharing what it was. These spindle drives are pretty damn good units.
