Fanuc 18i g54 activation

I am currently running a Muratec MW120 with a fanuc 18i controller and find that there are times when I need to move all of the tools in z the same amount when doing a setup. I do this on other machines in the shop by moving the g54. When I put the g54 in the program it gives me an error message “ Improper g-code.
Parameter “1221 Workzero it’s” is the only place the I can find to input a number.
Do I need to activate the g54 in some way to get it to work?
Any help will be appreciated.

You don't have the option for G54 turned on.

do you have the original parameters list for the machine? Compare it to 9936 in the machine.

I'm surprised such a basic function wasn't installed in the machine when it was built, but maybe I shouldn't be.

That means that your machine does not have G54-G59 work offsets, only Workshift.

Which is very surprising for a machine with the 18i control. I have seen plenty of machines with 0T control without work offsets but never a machine with 21i/18i/15i.

It's why I wondered if the machine maybe lost parameters at some point and they were reinstalled but not all the options were turned on. But he didn't mention if he even had the original parameter list for the machine.

Muratec only uses the Workshift function. We had 5 MD120's at my last job and none of them had G54-G59.
Look for the G10Z?.??? towards the top of the program, add or subtract the amount you want to move everything to the current value and it will "shift" everything.
