Fanuc Program Transfer Tool error on larger files

Dear All,

I ran into problem with Fanuc program transfer tool and “big” (>185kB) program files. When I try to upload files larger than that to the mounted CF card memory I get error:
“nDownloadBEx: (Err.1.22.222.-16.8.1)Investigate CNC power supply, Ethernet cable and I/F board”

I played with the communication timeout setting in Program Transfer tool and set it from 10 seconds to 90 seconds and now it gives error:
“nDownloadBEx: (Err.1.22.222.10.0.0)Retry because the buffer is full 001 01 00 2022/11/26 16:52:02 - [D:\device\D\30.nc]->[//CF_BIN/30.nc]”

Program gets partially uploaded to the CF card with the size of 185kB.. Anything smaller than 185kB there is no problem in uploading to the machine CF card. I tried to look for parameters which might limit the size or something but couldn’t find any (not saying there isn’t).

Anyone know what might be the issue and how to fix it? Machine is Robodrill T14 with Fanuc 31iB control.

Thank you in advance.

I have only ever been able to upload from my laptop to the control memory. I also purchased the memory card tool and that did not allow me to access the memory card through the program transfer tool. I'm listening for the solution too.

I had already forgotten this issue. Now I had case where program size was 228kB and when initiated the transfer I remembered this issue. It took forever, say several minutes and PTT gave ok message. First reaction was like, now it worked. Then I went to the mill and checked that the program size was only 198kB, so yeah same thing without the error message. I downloaded the same program back to PC and looked the last lines and were like WTF, M30 and other last lines were there so the transfer at least didn't end prematurely like before. Compared original program with the one from the mill with Notepad++ compare plugin and the only differences were that spaces were removed from the command lines. Eg. X12.10 Y2.5 -> X12.1Y2.5.

So this gave no answers, what caused the errors earlier. Would have it worked for 1MB program? I don't know. Good thing is that at least now it worked, gives hope for the future.
