Does March 1961 make sense? That would be a 500mm X travel machine with the motor integrated into (hidden inside) the base.
Yes, that it the type of machine shown in the manual.

Hi Matt, I'm sure that someone will purchase the manual (if needed, put it onto Ebay). Before you send it off, how about doing a clean scan of it, so that those of us with machines from this epoch but shallower pockets can also benefit from it? Cheers, Bruce

I advise the same. I found a guy who was selling a piece of equipment that I had never seen a manual for online. He had a very nice and new looking manual in the photos. I offered to pay him to scan the manual for me and he did so. Might not be a bad idea here if several guys contribute a few bucks for his time.
 
I've had it for years (20+). I know I've made copies of it in the past, but never scanned it. I'll see if I have one of the copies- I could scan that automatically at work.
I've never seen an English manual for the 500mm FP2, that would be a great contribution to the forum!
