A very nice/handy chuck. Take care if buyer decides to grind/turn it being sure it is square and tram before touching .. SS top plate so may not be easy to grind so wet and not too fine a wheel.

Can turn it in the holding/to find the best running then add a paint mark to relocate at the place/turn.
Mark the face with a sharpie perhaps 1-8 and note run out at each turn and choose the best place to add line up mark/ a paint line is good so not permanent marking such a nice thing.

A friend had a flat back chuck he would mount on a round mag chuck so when paced he coul hold a tippie or lon part or hold a head stock center for use on an OD-ID geinder (and knock it in to .0001 or so....same would/might be good for lathe use .
A V block can also be handy on a round mag chuck, turnig slow so not to run out of balance.

Not sure how square this chuck would indicate as the shank was the wrong taper for my cylindrical grinder. The backing plate and jarno taper is one piece very nicely ground and may have been made by Suburban. Not sure if they offered those or not. If it needed machined I would hold by the taper with the chuck removed and true the face of the backing plate first. Then grind or face the back of the chuck if it needed done.
