Hey everyone I am looking to see if anyone here has the grinding package for their DMG Mori. I am having a problem finding an arbor and grinding well set up because the only arbors I can find are metric and the only wheels I'm finding are standard. Let me know what ya got.....

What taper?

I've made a few in the past. I don't think I kept any extra. I made 10 or 12 pcs CAT50-dual contact 3" arbor with a 8" flange.

Most grinding wheels ( other than CBN) will have oversized arbor holes but most of the time just a few thou.

What is likely a 32mm boss gives you just enough meat to grind or turn it down to 1 1/4". Problem solved.
This is my thought as well. I'm just trying to make sure that's my only solution before I take it to my boss and tell him I want to cut a brand new holder lol

8" flange seems huge for any tool holder, what kind if machine grinds with a 50 taper?

I just got a strange request from a customer to mount an 8" grinding wheel in a bt30 machine to grind profiles and dress it with a diamond wheel. I made the arbor fit in a 20mm ER32 collet, with the arbor side being 32.06mm exactly to fit both the 8" wheel and the diamond dresser wheel, both of those bores measured at 32.07mm and fit snugly on the 32.06mm arbor. Now I just have to made sure I don't spin up the 8" wheel to max rpm....

We used to have the likes of end mill holders specially made. They cost a little more than catalog ones, but we had the made with multiple hold-screw holes so when the ID opposite the holding screw would wash out we just used the next set.

Mostly I don't think mills are made for grinding .. but I don't have modern mill experience, perhaps they are OK with grit. Grinding om older mills and lathes would soon ruin a machine.

It is a specially made with a grinding option. A typical mill I would agree but this is literally made for this application
