It would have been funny if you could have posted this yesterday, being Friday and all.
Yeah that was a missed opportunity, dang it. Would have been punny.

what EG said in the other thread should be taken into consideration though, if they only shipped goods they sold and were paid for prior to the sanction, then its a much more grey area IMO.
Lots of commentary here about CCN NYT WAPO is crap, but I have, in the past, asked [even posted the front page of CNN.com] and said, find me a lie
crickets
'missed opportunity'.....story of my life.standardparts is to blame for the missed opportunity![]()
"......reading the Boston Globe for 50 years...."With all due respect, while I am annoyed by Mika and Rachel or whoever rambling on MSNBC nearly as much as Tucker, we have court filings involving text messages where Foxnews hosts are:
reviling their viewers
admitting that what they are proclaiming on air is laughable
complaining that hard news[facts] people are going to cost them money by reporting, uh facts
This is really a bit different from 'both sides'
I have been reading the Boston Globe for better part of 50 years. Learning to parse the truth by reading past the headline has become second nature.
There is a profound difference between editorial bias, or choosing what stories to tell, and telling stories that you know to be untrue
Truth is not negotiable
Anyone's opinion about the truth is always welcome
No, all the damn networks are not like gossip magazines
Every place you have ever gotten news from has been paid to do it
By someone who isn't you
I refuse to buy into the 'everybody lies' when you have one side pushing a narrative they know to be false

There are different lies that you and I find attractive
Intelligence is understanding your own bias and being able fight it
way to deliberately miss the point"......reading the Boston Globe for 50 years...."
Like a long marriage where both partners assume the habits and thoughts of each other and ultimately look and sound alike.
Not unusual for a person to stick with something comfortable even avoiding reality in some cases, a security blanket of sorts, a place that always seems consistent and safe presenting no challenges.
And so it goes.
Well, we can let a frog loose in the cricket patch at least ...
Pretty much everything the Times and Washboard print about China is a lie. Two paragraphs of intro then sixteen of lies. Unfortunately it is usually difficult to clearly demonstrate that. However ...
If you will remember, in early December there was a bunch of 'reporting' on alleged riots over covid. (T
I would argue that the wide ability to access information from varying sources has improved news reportingSelective use of the "facts" is just as bad. Just different. I stand by my statement. News has taken a large turn for the worse in the last several decades.
way to deliberately miss the point
[golf clap]
So Putin could safely visit.....if he visited the UN we might have to let him...If I'm not mistaken, the US does not belong / has not signed on to the International Criminal Court, possibly for fear of people such as Henry Kissinger being sentenced to hanging by the neck until dead ?
that anyone with any rudimentary intelligence must learn to parse their news source'point'? What was your point?
anyone who is not in China can access hundreds of pictures that put the lie to that statement
.... Of course russia blew up their own pipeline a few months later so it was a mote point.
BillD
lol, you believe that?At the start of putins latest war Germany had some pipeline gas compressors that had been rebuilt and ready to be shipped back to russia. Not really needed just for spares. As I recall they were already paid for and I think they ended up shipped after sanctions because they were an already done deal.
Lots of controversy about what should be have done with them. Of course russia blew up their own pipeline a few months later so it was a mote point.

Really? "this is not even about US law"the issue of Haas shipping machines to a regime that was engaging in atrocities happened in 2022, and it has absolutely NOTHING to do with Putler's indictment this year. this is nonsensical and the article 1 section 9 reference is completely irrelevant. this is not even about US law.
l'ts pretty simple, it was wrong to ship the tools. wether Haas could have stopped the shipment, and did they at least try, those are the only relevant questions.
Seriously? People identified as federal assets and BLM/Antifa activists breaking down barriers and damaging property, Capitol Police escorting "the shaman" and helping him pose for pictures, and even "the shaman" standing on the capitol steps later with a microphone telling protestors that "trump has asked us to go home" and "we are the party of law and order".It does nothing of the sort, and you know it
