Haas St20y c axis not engaging properly

our Haas St20y c axis not engaging properly, it tries to engage and is not seated property then a sudden loud clunk and it engages. because it isn't oriented properly it has damaged the c axis gear. this is now the 2nd time this has happened and the machine isn't even 2 years old. the first time was covered by warranty. Any one else have issues with the c axis?

my 15Y does it from time to time but it completely fails to engage and throws an error I just have to rehome C and then it runs fine for weeks and weeks, its very sporadic and because its so random its impossible to find the cause

We have a new st20y. C axis has been fine so far. I know when the machine came the drawbar tube had to be adjusted, no idea if it might be related?

Not sure what the exact cause is here, but since you have had this issue in the past they should warranty the repair again. Even if it is out of the warranty period. It doesn't sound like they fully fixed it the first time.

ya it's probably a software bug, the lil servo C axis spins up before it engages with the big ring gear and goes chomp. we beat a bunch of those up at the factory.
