I've got a chance for this thing real cheap..........looks like it weighs about 13k pounds, that is a bit much for my trailers. Can I get about a ton off that? Maybe take the ballast off the back end and get it closer to 10k?

Do you have another forklift or crane that can lift the counterweight? The counterweight on a 8K forklift could weigh 3000.

Yes, where it is at, there is no trouble handling it. A 3k reduction would be great, should get it to a manageable weight. Only have to go about 10 miles.

I don't know what kind of condition its in but I'd drive it 10 miles if backroads, light traffic, AG triangle reflector. Don't have to go Warp 9, even if you can only go 5mph it will take <2 hrs.

Put on an orange vest and hardhat and its just roadwork

10 miles, just do it.

In high school I had a buddy drive a K5 blazer he bought about 4-5 miles in reverse to get it home...

Last time I was in Kalifornica ,there were big trucks towing forklifts at 55 mph on the freeways there .....I assumed they had some kind of disconnecting drive ....like a 4x4.
