Hendey Tool & Gage Lathe Taper Attachment Questions

For those of you who have a Hendey T&G lathe - what do you do with the taper attachment when it's not in use? Being that the travel of the attachment is fairly short, it doesn't travel with the carriage and there is no easy way to remove the sliding block. Do you loosen the mounting bolts and let the whole attachment slide along with the carriage, remove the sliding block, set the taper back to 0, or is there something that I'm missing?

It seems really limiting to have such a short amount of travel available, in addition to having to re-set the taper if you wanted to switch back to regular turning.

I park mine at far right end of bed where it's out of the way. You don't need to remove the sliding block or even set the thing back back to zero. Take out the two cap screws and leave the binding screw assembly in place on cross slide.

Thanks for that - I knew I was missing something.
