Himes "owns" a haas!

That other thread is an interesting read. On his website the only physical address listed is an office in Henderson Nevada. Funny that he shows a picture of this huge office building when his unit #217 is probably as big as a broom closet. I don't see how anyone would buy from him or anyone who brokers a machine they aren't local to.

The photos look like Hildebrand Machinery in York PA. He has advertised other machines from Hildebrand.
I've never been to Hildebrand but looking at some of their other machines I see various wall backgrounds and they are all cinderblock or if metal building, metal siding 8 feet up then insulation.

This NOS Haas from CL is cinderblock 8 feet up then metal building insulation. Plus Hildebrand doesn't list this machine on their website.

Having said all that, I am curious where this thing is and can't find it in searches. I wonder if Himes might be adding or subtracting a year to throw me off the trail or what. He does seem to have an uncanny knack for listing machines that are not easy to find out where they really are.

im outta the loop here, but the Ebay listing says Bethlehem Pa. There's a few other machines from the same location for sale also, if you want to gander the inside of the shop/warehouse.

Hildebrand has another part of the building with a 100T crane that is steel framed, backed up against the block building. I looked and it does not have gray beams, so it's not there.

Looking at an overall view of Action, I see gray framework and partial blockwork, so that makes good sense. I haven't been there in many years.

Not for nothing, but just because Himes lists the machine, doesn't mean he owns it. ;)
Seeing as that was the whole point of this thread I'm a bit mystified by that comment....unless you are trying to upset thermite's reign and become the new Captain Obvious of PM.

It could be at Action Machinery . I just checked their site , not listed yet . The walls look familiar .
I was curious why he picked the Raleigh, NC Craig's List of all places, which got me to wondering if he'd hacked a way to list his stuff on every CL in the country. So I did a Search Tempest search of all CL's and via keywords "2006 Haas VF3" it is only listed in Raleigh and Orange County, CA. Quite the mystery that so far only he seems to list this NOS Haas. Which may actually be a bit hard to sell due to the umbrella tool changer.

I think you nailed it...found a few photos of Action machines against the wall... exact same cinderblock with gray trim over the top of the block, same white insulation above the block, and same gray building frame.

I purchased an Okuma Engine Lathe off of Hildebrand a few years ago, Himes had it listed on Ebay for 3,000 dollars more than I bought it for.... three months later it was still on Ebay... I emailed them to ask to "buy it now" .... "It was just sold that morning" ... :willy_nilly:

You could actually see the Hildebrand Paperwork hanging in the Ebay photos...
