Well this thread has degenerated into an insult contest, so I thought I might interject some opinion, not insult.
The Ukraine is one of Europe's leading producers of grains. It is also a world leader in palladium, iron, titanium and other metals. The Ukraine is a leader in manufacturing and produces some parts and assemblies for some of our our military vehicles. The Ukraine not only produces oil, but a tremendous amount of oil produced elsewhere goes thru pipelines and rail lines thru the Ukraine to countries in Europe.
We used to export a lot of oil and natural gas, but due to lower oil costs (now on steep rises) and unfavorable rules and regulations at home, we now import a lot of oil, some of it from Russia.
So the question is no longer would a shooting war impact manufacturing in Europe, but how expensive the actual shooting war is going to be for not only Europe, but the world.
The other question is what are we going to do to make sure we can not be held captive by our need for raw materials or products that we currently import.
Right you are!
Look at a map of petroleum pipe lines across Ukraine. Russia can NOT afford to loose control of those.
I've read, since the Buyed-in thief came to orifice, the US imports 600,000 barrels a day from the Reds. May be true.. IDK.
