hello everyone,
So I am trying to get this Hurco to calibrate on startup and it will go through its paces until it reaches the A Axis portion of the the calibration and then the "A AXIS CLAMP ERROR" (NTID 61, ERROR.WRC) message pops up on the screen. A quick search through the machine help menus and the error messages yields no results. so reaching out here to see if anyone else has had this issue.

I have restarted the machine several times, disconnected and reconnected the air, tried resetting the servos and nothing has worked so far.

thanks for any help

It only throws it when calibrating? What happens if you jog and clamp the A axis before the calibration routine? On my VMX30 with an A axis it'll usually throw an alarm as soon as the machine is powered on if the axis is out of whack. Could be as simple as the air line going to the rotary has a hole in it or got kinked and isn't releasing the brake.

yes it only throws it while running the calibration cycle. but also wont reset the alarm. and the alarm is not present when the machine is turned on. the machine unclamps the 4th axis and moves the table and the 4th and 5th axis. and then when it goes to clamp it just sits there and does not move.

it wont allow me to clamp the axis while the alarm is active. and wont allow me to move the axis once the alarm is triggered.

just tried to move the a axis and i dont get the audible air release that it should be doing. so i think you are correct it seems to be an issue with the actuators. because the machine has plenty of air.
