I don't know what I have

Hello,

Hope this isn’t one of those posts that instantly agitates the forum gurus, if so I apologize.

To be brutally honest I’m not much of a machinist and I came across a lot of machinery equipment recently, especially EDM or what I believe to be related to. Quite frankly I don’t know what any of this stuff is.

I have a dielectric reservoir from what the manual says is a Bench 201E EDM. Came with some deionization tanks as well. Clearly the main part of the machine is gone. My biggest question is what the heck is all this stuff. I gather the 3R stuff is a chuck system. But all this small rods and chunks, not sure. Any knowledge that can be spared would be much appreciated.

Full disclaimer I really intend on selling this stuff but it is bad taste to just show up new on a forum and start peddling wares. So I’m the interest of education I’m on a research mission at this point.

Electrodes. You have all the detritus of years of a machines life. To work out exactly what's what you would need a EDM guy to look at it and even then he won't know what some of the custom stuff was made for. Basically it's like an archeological dig sorting out this stuff .

3R has catalogues to identify their product.

Looks like a bunch of garbage.

Pic #4 looks like an old System 3r 20mm starter kit. I'd put that on Ebay for $200. You might get lucky, but honeslty most people don't want that stuff anymore

Thanks so much for the feedback . That was I was looking for. I’m sure dielectric reservoirs aren’t in much demand either.

The first few pictures are copper tungsten material. These are used in machining carbide or if looking for EDM electrode with lower tool wear. 3R 20mm shank tooling not used much anymore. One of the other looks like an filter system.

Hi - I would be interested in the pump/motor on top of the Dielectric tank. I have a Benchman EDM and my motor is sketchy. It's not worth much, to be honest. The tank/Filter assm is good for scrap. The pump/motor is worth about $50. The round copper may be worth $20/stick if it's copper/tungsten. If straight copper just scrap it.

Hello,

Thanks for all the responses. I will send you a direct message regarding the pump/motor.
