I have a 1995 Puma 8S. We put on new membrane on it and it pushed all the buttons in and erased everything. I need the Fanuc parameters for this machine and also the Puma parameters. Please help. The same thing happened to my 8S HC.

Doosan/Daewoo/DN has the parameters for this machine on file.
Call your distributor or DN directly. They will need the machine model, control model, machine year and serial #.

Hello!

I am having an issue with my Puma 8s machine Fanuc OT control

Normally I would set a measured tool and set Z by MZ0.0 in the workshift page, then every other tool can be touched off in Z and MZ0.0 in the tool geometry page.

X is similar on our other machines, just cut a diameter and MX (whatever the diameter) in the tool geometry page.

I'm not quite sure if it is a parameter or two that is wrong.

There is a Tool Measure button on the controller, but haven't had any luck with that either, there is no instructions in the manual for it.

i've tried touching off a part in both X and Z with my work shift set to the distance from the face of the chuck to the end of the part in Z with X set at zero. I press tool measure then enter the value of the diameter on the appropriate tool offset then....no measure function? If I push input it of course will just input the value. How do I get the X value entered into the geometry offset without just inputing the actual measured dimension? The same problem for Z, if I touch the end of the part and press "tool measure" then Z0. My only option is the input key? I'm sure that I'm missing a key stroke of some kind. I've tried using U and W but same result.

Also any value I place in the tool geometry page in the X value and Z value wont be compensated in the Absolute position screen.
Hope you can help me out

I do have a complete parameter backup for this control and DGN files..

Are you measuring into the offset page or the work coordinate page?
It "should" be "M-X-(diam)" or "M-Z-0" followed by pressing the "INPUT" key..

Yes, I am I have several Fanuc OT lathes and do the sane procedure and I am putting the offsets in the geometry section. Nevertheless the Abs value Position wont be updated , even with a Tool change confirmation such as T0202. Even If I change a tool the Abs values wont change, seems its not loading tool position compensation.
Thats why I'm looking for another parameter backup to double check.

I'm wondering if it needs to be homed first..
Perhaps the offset needs to be active before measuring?
Machine is properly homed, (Led's blinking) No matter what tool offset, the Abs. screen wont change the current position. If I command a tool change position doesn't change either.
I
can jog the machine, send programs..execute programs..Rapid are activated, all ok.

Seems the control just won't pick up the geometry tool offsets.

Has anyone on this link been able to reset the parameters of Puma 8S, we have had info of manufacturer and an old floppy disc which came with machine but are unable to read.
