Vintage Machining Equipment. Most ran off belt drive system with electric motor. Prefer to sell as a lot. Purchased an old oil supply company and have no use for any of the items.

Unlikely, the seller's price is unrealistically high.
Not enough iron to make a profit for a scrapper.

No. It's middle-of-nowhere oil and gas country. One of the lowest population densities in the state.

Same here! I grew up in St. Albans, spent a lot of time in Montgomery. Wife was born in Spencer.

Or, maybe he just thinks the stuff might be useful to somebody. Maybe he doesn't want to see it scrapped. Maybe (obviously) he has no idea what any of it is worth, and made up a number out of thin air.

In any case, I'm not sure I have the insight to determine whether or not someone is an asshole, or their philosophy of paying income tax on cash sales, from a four sentence Facebook ad.
