JULY, AUGUST, SEPT. OCT. 2023 SCRAPING CLASSES IN MINNESOTA

I will be teaching basic and advanced scraping classes inside my home shop in Cottage Grove, MN. I am a Journeyman Machine Tool Rebuilder and have taught scraping and machine building classes all over the world. I've taught classes since the 1980's for 8 divisions of GM, Timken Bearing, Cummins Engine, USA Navy shipyards and parts depots, I spend 2 1/2 years teaching in Taiwan at new machine builders, Taught German new machine companies and rebuilders in Germany and Turkey, Taught in Norway, Sweden, Denmark to hobbyists. All over the USA inside Hobbyists shops and for fortune 500 companies.

Dates are July 17 - 21, a Monday - Friday class, we already have 1 student signed up and need 3 more. August 17 - 21 a Thursday - Monday weekend class. Need 3 more students. Sept. 14 - 18. another weekend class Thurs - Monday Have room for 4 students. October 16 through the 20, M - F. Need 3 more students. I GUARANTEE you will learn to scrape in 5 days so you will be able to go home with confidence and know-how.

You can look at classes I have had and are posted down the line in this forum to get more info. I will teach you how to hand scrape, half moon oil flake, how to scrape a tapered gib, how to scrape Turcite, how to use a level and how to align a lathe bed, several Q&A sessions on how to rebuild a machine tool. I teach you how to scrape a small surface plate days 1&2 and you scrape on a personal project days 3-5. Several of the Practical Machinist Rebuilding forum members have taken my classes all ready. Those students are welcome to get more advanced training. No experience is needed for the basic class. I supply all the tools and supplies needed if you don't own any. You can go to You Tube and search "Richard King Scraping" and see several famous You Tubers who documented the class they attended. UPDATE
Because of my injury my son is teaching the June class. It's a 5 day class and today will be the 4th day. one of the student finished up yesterday as all he could afford was 3 days. he learned to scrape by hand and power, he hand a small prism strait-edge he finished. the 3 other students, one from Minneapolis, one from Colorado and one fellow flew from Saudi Arabia are finishing up their personal projects. to day i'm going to vist them to say hello and answer any rebuilding questions as most of you know i broke my shoulder and alex my son is teaching the class. it's inside my home shop. we have decided to cancel the August class as Alex has prior commitments as he is the Honey Bee manager at the MN State fair. those in MN should go meet him as demos how to raise bee's and how they collect honey. the July class is still going to take place. we have room for 2 more. thanks RK
