Just picked up an LBN with a load of mandrels, stones and truing sleeves. Before I try it out, What oil do I need to put in the spindle oil cups? It doesn't seem to say anything on it and if I google Sunnen and oil with any other words, it doesn't matter. I just get honing fluid.

It runs fine on DTE light. It would probably run on anything. Just figured I'd ask in case it was supposed to have kerosene or something crazy.

Back in the day it was built for automotive engine rebuilding. 30W was king that is what it takes. Non Detergent, that was all they had back them

DTE light would be ISO 32 or SAE 10. Maybe lighter than ideal. My compressors run on ISO 100/ SAE 30. I'll use that from now on.

The honing fluid pump on this guy is belt driven and it doesn't pump. Are these pumps serviceable?
It is a centrifugal pump not much to go wrong. The shaft should have a few thousands clearance if it is more you will have to bore it out and sleeve it. Other than that make sure the pickup screen is clean I have seen them plugged with lint from rags and make sure the belt is not slipping. There should be a knurled knob under the work tray that controls the volume make sure it isn't turned off
