Just saw a VERY interesting safety device

parachutes are one thing, sawstop another.

Point is that if it will cost you anywhere from $150 to $250 to replace the destroyed parts, you need to be pretty sure it has NO possible condition that will cause it to "false".

And you need to know it WILL work.

If it has a disable switch, then it is a tacit admission that there are problems, there is an un-necessary extra point of failure, and there is a way for the thing to be "off" and have someone be careless "knowing" that they can't get hurt.... until the saw chews through their wrist.

You may ridicule a non-destructive solution all you want.

SOMEONE will make one, and it will probably win out over "sawstop" just on the fact that it can be tested and verified, let alone that if it DOES "false" it does not cost umpty bucks.

It will NOT NEED an "off" or "disable" switch.... another huge benefit.
