K&T change gear question for the large low lead attachment. .

Does anyone have the change gears for the LL attachment on the bigger machines....probably a #4 or larger? If you do, can you post a picture of the spline? The reason I’m asking is, I’ve never seen a spline like this on a K&T. The spline is tapered,8p and for a 1-1/4” shaft.

I’ll get some pictures later this afternoon. I’m “almost” positive they belong on a K&T machine because they came with the larger 1:96 & the 1:24 worms & wheels. My 3CH machine uses the standard 1” , six spline straight cut, 10p change gears with the larger worms & wheels.

Here are the gears. What is the purpose of having a tapered spline like that? It’s seems like it would be a pain to tap them off every time you wanted to swap them out.
